I was born and raised in Japan where I first discovered a love for photography when I was in High School which eventually led me to work as within commercial photography in Osaka, Japan. I had a dream to come to the United States and work as a fashion photographer. However, my path led instead to photojournalism. This involved various freelance work including with New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Miami Herald, The Agency French Press, Associated Press.

My work in New York City as a staff photographer has been with The NY Newsday, The NY Daily News, and then with The Star Ledger in New Jersey and I am currently a staff photographer/videographer with The Record/Northjersey.com. I have been the recipient of several awards both national and local throughout my career.

I am an eyewitness of the moments that inspire us in daily life and my desire is to nurture us through photography.
